Japanese ivies crept, Chinese roses leapt,
You sow the seeds in last spring mist.
The greenest tips, the freshest leaves,
You tended the pots with careful heed.
Yet, when honeysuckles bloom and chameleon roses unfold,
You leave the buds in chilly winds,
You miss the blossoms of future springs,
Or you are watching me from another world.
