
Wang Xiaolei
Wang Xiaolei is a Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Dean of the Graduate School. He serves as the Chair of the Magmatic Rock Committee of the Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry, and is an Associate Editor of Acta Petrologica Sinica. He is a recipient of the National Natural Science Foundation of China Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2020) and Excellent Young Scholars (2012), as well as the Hou Defeng Young Scientist Award from the Chinese Society of Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry. He was named “My Favorite Teacher” in the sixth round of awards at Nanjing University and was selected for the “New Century Excellent Talents Support Program” of the Ministry of Education. Professor Wang received his bachelor’s degree (2001) and Ph.D. (2006) in Earth Sciences from Nanjing University and has been teaching at the university ever since. His research focuses primarily on the formation mechanisms of granites and the formation and evolution of the continents. He has led various projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China’s Distinguished Youth Fund, Excellent Youth Fund, Key Programs, General Programs, and Special Foundation for State Major Basic Research Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He has published over 130 academic papers and co-authored two textbooks. Some of his achievements have been recognized with the First Prize (ranked first) and Second Prize (ranked second) in the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education. He has been listed for four consecutive years in Elsevier’s “Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” from 2021 to 2024.
